i suggest you go for ASA 5505 Unlimited User Software license - ASA5505-SEC-BUN-K8. The original reason I got it was to learn with, as I've got to learn to tame our yet-to-be-deployed ASA 5520s at work (to replace PIX 515s). for example if you purchase 10 user bundle licenses, it means that the ASA can only build xlate connection (allow connection) for only 10 ip addresses and no more. It was pretty intense for me but I've learned alot. Actually - I love it! The only downside is the learning curve if you've never worked with ASA/PIX devices.
